Indoor Desert by Alvaro Sanchez-Montañes
After Namibian's diamond mines located along the nearly uninhabitable 'Skeleton coast' we're abandoned for richer marine-terrace diamond reserves, the Namib Desert moved in to slowly reclaim the buildings that were left behind. Upon hearing about these modern day ghost towns, Barcelona based photographer Alvaro Sanchez-Montañes set off to capture what was left. What he found are interiors full of rich wall colors that have been sand-blasted and distressed, but the palettes have an unexpected addition of color, the desert itself slowly filling the rooms and creating color palettes that cannot be seen in any other place.
