Well, we broke another contest entry record with the RYZ shoe design contest. 1,600 designs were submitted... awesome work. Now comes the hard part of trying to find a winner from so many great designs. This is where you spread the word about your designs and get your friends and family to vote for your shoe. Good luck!
Remember, winner takes home the grand prize - $750 cash and $250 store credit to the RYZ shop - plus free sponsored memberships at COLOURlovers.

Details from RYZ
It was tough work, but with the help from our friends at COLOURlovers, we were able to find the Top 9 COLOURlovers pattern designs out of the over 1600 submitted. In keeping with our voting process, we are seeding the voting gallery - top 9 selected by our COLOURlovers Creative Panel are on page 1, then the top 9 selected by our internal RYZ team on page 2. All other designs are listed on following pages and have equal chance in winning.
With the onslaught of multiple designs submitted, we have created a new feature where you can remove an entry from the competition. For those who have entered more than 3 designs, we'll give you through the weekend to self-select your favorite three (you probably shouldn't remove your design if it's in the top 9) - after that we will go through and remove designs for you. Go to your Contest Portfolio and select the "X" to remove a design from the contest. It will be returned to your Personal Design Workspace.
Remember everyone has a chance at winning - post your shoe to your networks, invite your friends and vote often!

BTW: how was that many were able to 'make shoes' with other patterns? I'd liked so much to make one with some of my floral patterns...

Some people created custom patterns with design software... those entries are counted as entries for the 2nd place prize from RYZ... those that used other patterns from CL that weren't listed in the RYZ category in the pattern maker are ineligible...

plch, I made mine with patterns I've created for COLOURlovers that just haven't been implemented yet.
I like your mademoiselle, peppermint, and tomato feast.

You've many designs, first I'd delete the ones which are at the end of the vote list, probably after that would be easier to choose.

I'm not talking about shoes people designed themselves, just the shoes using patterns from COLOURlovers:
The rules said that only the limited patterns listed under -RYZ Contest- could be used, and that any shoe using any other pattern from COLOURlovers would be disqualified. The patterns are copyrighted, and permission was only obtained for these few.
But I see that many of the shoes submitted use other COLOURlovers patterns, and that these are still in the contest. What's going on here?

I have seen many designs that were not in the RYZ patterns that are in the contest and have wondered the same thing as GreenMyEyes...What is going on here. Will the shoes be eliminated from the contest or did I not understand the rules of entry when I read them?
From my understanding only shoes using patterns found in the RYZ contest section would be allowed in the contest yet I see many shoes that are not in this section.
Can anybody tell me if I mis-understood the rules?

I uploaded about 40 designs and had the worst time narrowing my entries down to 3 !!!

Wonder if the ones outside the first couple of pages had any chance this time? I was rather happy with my designs, but I didn't really advertise them and they didn't get picked by the panel(s) so I never really got my hopes up...
