Colorful Beauty in Nature: Butterflies

One particular place to find amazing colors in nature is the Butterfly and lucky for us there are 17,500 species of butterflies in the world.

They use their bright colors to ward of predators by tricking them into thinking they are poisonous (some actually are) or by camouflaging themselves into plants or bigger insects.

i saw a poster once that i wanted to get. it was all the letters of the alphabet found naturally on butterfly wings. they were close-ups of various wings. it also had numbers from 0 - 9.

When I was young, my dad always told me to look at butterflies and flowers to find colors that work well together.

hi everyone, myself and a friend saw the biggest butterfly we have ever seen, if it is a butterfly. wow! this thing was gigantic! it had a really strange looking head, it looked like it had 4 things pointing out of it. it almost looked like a bat. it was brown with some kind of design. it was at least 5-6 inches across. it definitely was not pretty. anyone ever heard or seen such a thing.
